Japan's pacific campaign

Japan's pacific campaign, also know as the pacific war is the time period where Japan tried to take over the pacific islands, and east Asia. Most say the conflicts starting date was the 8th of December 1941 when Japan, invaded Thailand, attacked the , British, owned islands of Malaya,Singapore and Hong Kong, they also attacked the U.S. military bases in Hawaii and the Philippines. The war can also be dated back to July 1937 when Japan and the republic of china got into the second sino-Japanese war. But once the Japanese invaded Thailand and attacked the U.S. Military bases they were 100% in WWll. The pacific war turned into the allied powers pitted against the Japanese, with little aid from Thailand and the axis. The Japanese surrendered after the Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The pacific war or Japan's pacific campaign ended on September 2 1945.
German advancements before and during the war

Germany came into the war thinking that they could dominate and take over the world. But to do that they knew that they had to better develop there weapons. In 1940 the Germans invented a semi automatic rifle called Gewehr 43 this was made to replace the commonly used bolt action rifle Karabiner 98k. This out the infantry the solders on the ground in a entirely better situation, by giving them this advancement over everyone else. Another advancement Germany made in the war was the first assault rifle it was a huge success for the Germans against the allies, and it wasn't available to them until the end of the war. They also also had a a sub machine gun that was an easy operate and light kickback machine gun that can take out 10 people in 25 seconds. And these advancements were just for the infantry there were also armored vehicles, there tanks out classed almost all allies, they invented the first jet, the first cruise missiles and the first ballistic missiles. Germany Invades Poland

When Germany invaded Poland that was the spark of the war. They invaded on September 1, 1939. Hitler felt that he needed to take over his lost land. Hitler used a strategy called "blitzkrieg". That is the method of destroying everything early from bombing them. They would fly over and destroy as much as possible. They did that so they could defeat them and take over land quickly and easy, but it was a little costly. When they invaded Poland, all of Poland's allies got involved and went after Germany.
U.S. Involvement of the War.

The U.S. Wanted to stay out of the war, but the Japanese attacked us and we had no choice. The Japanese did a surprise attack on us on December 7, 1941. Some say that Franklin D. Roosevelt knew about the attack and wanted to join the war. The Japanese dropped bombs on battle ships and on people. They killed over 2,400 people. They sank 18 battle ships and 164 aircrafts.
On December 8, 1941 F.D.R. declared war on the axis. The axis consisted of Germany, Italy, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. After the U.S. declared war on Japan, the axis ailed with Japan and all of them declared war on the U.S. The U.S. allied with Great Britain, France, USSR, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Greece, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, and Yugoslavia.
Holocaust

The Holocaust was a terrible thing. The Holocaust murdered six million Jews by the Nazi regime and its partners. Holocaust is a Greek word meaning sacrifice by fire. The Nazis, believed that Germans were racially superior and that the Jews, were considered inferior.
In 1933 the Jews population of Europe was nine million. Most Jews lived in places that Nazi Germany would take over during World War II. By 1945 the Germans and their partners killed two out of three European Jews. the Nazi policy to murder the Jews of Europe, was known as the final solution. Although Jews were the primary victims of Nazi racism, other victims included 200,000 Gypsies . At least 200,000 German mental or physical disabled patients living in institutional settings, were murdered in the Euthanasia Program.

At the beginning of 1944, we were taking back the countries Germany took over. We started flying planes above German bases and dropping bombs. They started retreating and we closed them in. They were surrounded and Turkey signed an armistice. Then Germany agreed to have a treaty and the U.S. and our other allies signed with Italy and Germany. Japan did not give up. They kept fighting and Truman gave them a warning to end the war or mass death will happen. They declined and we dropped 2 nukes on japan. One in Nagasaki, and the other in Hiroshima. They gave up and signed a treaty, and the Japanese leader Korechika Anami committed suicide by seppuku. That is an ritual formed by the Japanese with a samurai sword. They do that so they die by them and not the enemy.

At the end of the war, a meeting was held in Germany, to set up peace treaties . The countries that fought with Hitler lost territory and had to pay amends to the Allies . Germany and the capital Berlin were divided into fours. The zones were to be controlled by, United States, Great Britain, France, and the Soviet Union.

After the war Nazis were arrested for what they had done. The most famous war trials were held at Nuremberg, Germany. Those who were responsible for brutal crimes were sentenced to death.
